Il titolo di questa (anche web) mostra \u00e8 la parafrasi del pi\u00f9 famoso “Alien Sounds”, un set di suoni metallici, impersonali che imperversava nei computer di qualche anno fa, intendendo affascinare neofiti e non, palesando la direzione disumanizzante, uniformante e massificante che il mito di un progresso e di un pensiero unico hanno imboccato nella speranza di una strada senza ritorno.<\/p>\n

In “Io sono leggenda” (R. Matheson, 1954) il protagonista, rimasto l’ultimo uomo non contagiato dai vampiri si accorge di essere diventato lui il mostro in mezzo a tutti gli altri ormai normali.<\/p>\n

Cos\u00ec ora ci piace pensare che gli alieni siamo noi, in mezzo ad un mondo fatto di suoni campionati, filtrati, massimizzati, bufferizzati, generati da “megamacchine” fatte per non disturbare l’orecchio succube dello spettatore che passivamente si attende melodie e suoni assolutamente conformisti e tranquillizzanti.<\/p>\n

Gli alieni siamo noi, popolazioni indigene (e umili curatori di una mostra) che si ostinano a cercare nei materiali, nella vibrazione dell’aria, nel vento che percorre gli altopiani, rincorrendo i versi di una scimmia o il gracchiare delle rane il senso profondo di una musica che vuole essere testimonianza di una ricerca di libert\u00e0, creativit\u00e0 e infine di assoluto.<\/p>\n

Se siete curiosi in cerca di un po’ di etnicit\u00e0 per appagare le vostre pupille e le vostre orecchie con qualcosa che scacci l’eterna noia che vi attanaglia, forse questo non \u00e8 quel che cercate.<\/i><\/p>\n

Se siete persone perbene che cercano di salvare il mondo illudendovi che Darwin abbia ragione e che esiste solo la legge del pi\u00f9 forte e non quella della bellezza, forse non raccoglierete nulla nel vostro navigare.<\/i><\/p>\n

Ma se siete dei cacciatori di verit\u00e0, spiriti indomiti, che non si vogliono arrendere all’idea che tutto debba essere per forza armonia (all’occidentale o alla new age), che anche quel che altri considerano spazzatura ha una sua dignit\u00e0, se non cercate di salvare le culture indigene inscatolandole nei vostri barattoli di conformismo e pietismo, se siete o cercate di esser coscienti che la vostra libert\u00e0 \u00e8 intimamente collegata alla nostra allora forse possiamo darci la mano.<\/i><\/p>\n

The title of this (also web) exhibition is the paraphrase of the famous “Alien Sounds”, a set of impersonal metallic sounds that raged in the computers of a few years ago, intending to fascinate newcomers and experts alike, revealing the dehumanizing, smoothing and overpowering direction that the myth of the progress and of the “single thought” \u00a0have taken in the hope of a road with no return.<\/p>\n

In “I Am Legend” (R. Matheson, 1954), the protagonist, being was the last man not plagued by vampires, realizes he’s becoming the monster in the midst of all the other who are now the normal ones.<\/p>\n

So, we like to think that the aliens are us, in the midst of a world of sampled sounds, filtered, maximized, buffered generated by “megamachines” made \u200b\u200bfor not disturbing the ear of the listener who passively expects melodies and sounds absolutely conformists and calming.<\/p>\n

The aliens are we, indigenous peoples (and humble curators of this exhibition) who insist on trying into materials, vibrations of the air, into the wind that runs through the highlands, into the pursuit of the verses of a monkey or the croaking of the frogs, the deep sense of a music that wants to be witness to a quest for freedom, creativity, and – finally – for absolute.<\/p>\n

If you are curious in search of a little bit of ethnicity to satisfy your eyes and your ears with something that will banish the eternal boredom grip, maybe this is not what you seek.<\/em><\/p>\n

If you are decent people who are trying to save the world fooling yourselves with the thought that Darwin was correct and that there is only the law of the jungle and not that of beauty, maybe you won’t get anything in your sailing through these web pages.<\/em><\/p>\n

But if you are the hunters of truth, indomitable spirits, who do not want to give up the idea that everything has to be necessarily harmony (both Western or new age one), that what others consider junk has its own dignity and if you do not try to save the indigenous cultures putting them into your cans of conformism and pietism, or if you try to be conscious that your freedom is intimately linked to ours, then maybe we can shake hands<\/em><\/p>\n
