Once upon a time Struga (FYROM – Macedonia) 2007

“C’era una volta” è stato scambio giovanile sul tema delle fiabe, quello che dicono di noi in quanto esseri umani e quali dei nostri bisogni, valori, abitudini, stereotipi e simboli vi sono incorporati. Le fiabe sono state utilizzate come mezzo per la comprensione di un comune patrimonio culturale e strumento per esplorare il nostro passato e presente con magia e in un quadro di sicurezza. Abbiamo voluto scoprire ciò che i giovani sentivano come vero e avevano da raccontare sull’Europa, i rapporti tra i suoi cittadini e i suoi più importanti avvenimenti storici: le fiabe hanno svolto in questo modo un ruolo di specchio della vita reale e di loro stessi. Il progetto si è proposto come obiettivi lo sviluppo delle conoscenze dei partecipanti sul patrimonio culturale europeo e la sensibilizzazione sugli stereotipi e l’esplorazione del legame tra gli stereotipi e i pregiudizi indicati nelle favole con quelli nel mondo reale. Le metodologie di lavoro durante lo scambio sono state: workshop di progettazione (improvvisazione, storytelling, costumi e trucco) discussioni ed escursioni sul campo. Le organizzazioni coinvolte sono state: il Forum Giovanile EYE di Struga – FYROM-Macedonia, il Centro per le Arti Interattive “In Stage Organization” di Belgrado – Serbia e il Maatschappelijke Jongeren Actie – MJA di Bruxelles – Belgio.

“Once Upon a Time” was a youth exchange about fairy tales, what they say about us as human beings and what our needs, values, habits, stereotypes and symbols are incorporated in them. Fairy tales have been used as a means of understanding of a common cultural heritage and a tool to explore our past and present with magic and in a security framework. We wanted to find out what young people felt like it and had to tell about Europe, the relationships among its citizens and its most important historical events: the fairy tales have played a role in this way of real life mirror between reality and these issues. The project was aimed to the development of knowledge of the participants about the European cultural heritage and intended to raise awareness about stereotypes, exploring the link between stereotypes and prejudices mentioned in fairy tales with those in the real world. Working methods during the exchange were: designed workshops (improvisation, storytelling, costumes and makeup) discussions and field trips. The organizations involved were: the Youth Forum EYE from Struga – Macedonia-FYROM, the Center for the Arts Interactive “In Stage Organization ” from Belgrade – Serbia and Maatschappelijke Jongeren Actie – MJA from Brussels – Belgium.
